For Pathologists & Labs: Contribute MEC Samples
You may have seen it once. That one case could change everything.
cureMEC Biobank & Data Commons
Pathologists hold the key to accelerating discovery in myoepithelial carcinoma.
Support MEC Research Through Sample Contribution
The cureMEC Biobank, developed by cureMEC: the Myoepithelial Carcinoma Project and the Rare Cancer Research Foundation, is the first dedicated repository for myoepithelial carcinoma (MEC) tissue and fluid samples. Pathology contributions are essential to advancing biologic understanding, identifying therapeutic targets, and developing new treatment strategies for this ultra-rare tumor type.

Why Your Sample Matters
Because MEC is extremely rare, each specimen provides high-impact research value. Access to well-annotated tissue enables:
Molecular and genomic studies
Development of preclinical models
Target discovery and drug-response testing
Correlation of pathology with clinical and genetic data
What We Collect
FFPE blocks or unstained slides
Fresh/cryopreserved/frozen tissue (when available)
Cytology specimens or other relevant fluids
Associated pathology reports
Relevant clinical annotations (if provided by the treating team)
